This kit was originally released in 1977 according to the stamp on the inside of a main wing and it has not been written off by me as a seconds kit as the kit does have fit problems they can be overcome by simple filling and sanding prior to painting. The cockpit and pilot figure were my two biggest concerns for detailing and painting the figure is an easy fix, I added etched brass to the harnesses for extra detailing. The cockpit was fairly simple as I painted everything according to the instructions. Which leads me to the instructions, typically 1970s type with basic drawings and lots of need to place parts in your mind according to the drawings at times. I am pleased with the overall build and have no major complaints to share. It is an old die kit with flash and the rest of the issues of older kits but a great starter for anyone with body repair experience. I used some left over decal sheets to compliment the kit issued one so create an imaginary pilot's nickname to be A Checkered Past as one of the decal sheets had an appealing checkered design that just could not be ignored! Have fun and I recommend this kit.
