Nice kit, but those tires.
By ratfink454 March 6, 2015
Very nice to see a Jeep in this scale. Most are 1/35 scale and won't look right when parked next to my other models. I recently built this kit and liked the amount of options they included. I made mine with a backseat and a .50 cal! However, I noticed there were optional parts included that weren't mentioned in the directions. Also, no mention was made as to what color to paint what pieces. Finally, the wheels were a royal pain the @$$ to put together. I had to use pliers to get them to fit in the tires. I like that it's 1/25 scale, so you can use the weapons that weren't used in other builds. I'm planning on putting the anti-aircraft gun on the back of a 1940 Ford pickup.

Re. unreferenced parts
By Bob A. October 23, 2015
@ ratfink454 Yeah the odd parts are for building a Civilian Surry top jeep, sometimes called a Jitney. They were popular in the Phillipenes after WWII, and if you search internet, you will have a ball building one after you see all the doo-dads they put on them! Also the large gun is not an anti-aircraft gun, but, a 106mm recoiless rifle, that fired a rocket propelled shell. You're right about the look of the tires though. as far as mounting them ,after building 4 of these kits I found it helpfull to toss the tires into a bowl of hottest tap water you get, to soften 'em up a little, they mount easier. DO Not use boiling water, or you'll end up w/black blobs where the tires were!!! Anyway, army of this era was usually everything O.D. Green, w/black hoses, starter, air cleaner, crossover tube, and generator, and belts, oh yeah, voltage regulator on fender well. If you model it in service for a while, you can just paint everything O.D., except rubber parts,as that was standard practice when overhaulled at repo depot. I built rifle jeep, .50cal gun jeep, and ambulance jeep, and just for fun I built Elvis' Surrey jeep from the movie Love a little, Live a little!! using internet references. (My wife's an Elvis fan.) Seems I remember seeing the surrey version pic on the side box art, But you're correct, nothing noted in the directions. I rated it only good cause of the glaring error on the tires, but once you build one ,or 2, or 3, you kinda don't notice 'em anymore. Everything else in the kit was excellent ,with all the variations available to build. Would recommend researching version you decide to build to clear up any confusion as to paint, accessorie locations, or any other details you may wish to add. I also used H.O. Train decals, and letters to letter the front ,and rear bumpers . Great kit for any builder, with some assistance needed for the novice.

Fun kit, not the greatest quality kit
By Robandwendybraswell May 6, 2016
It was fun to build, instructions weren't great, and fit was ok.

This was an average kit.I did like the extras this kit had..ie: gas cans, rifles, shovels etc. I turned my kit into a civilian off road jeep.I my opinion this kit could be a bit less in price, just imo
