"Osprey brings us with an important puzzle part of D-Day"

Operation Neptune was the biggest logistic enterprise in the history of naval warfare. This book tells the story from the begining. it shows how the allied naval commanders dealt with the problem of putting 5 infantry divisions, safe in Nazi French soil, plus a substancial number of tanks, a meticulously planed bombardment of the coast to destroy the defenses previous to the landings and reduce soldiers losses to a minimun, and above all, achieve an overwhelming naval superiority, all, for one specific day in the summer of 1944. Then the story goes with the assemble of this formidable armada, the climax of the book is all the action and tales of heroism of the sailors, shown in D-Day itself, and at the end, a brief description on the operation, after D-Day. As Usual in the Osprey's Campaign series, it comes with tables with units and numbers, B&W and also some color images, and the story is telled from both sides, but in this case the German opposition (Spoiler alert!) was minimal. This book is great to see another puzzle part of the great picture, that D-Day form. Operation PLUTO and Mullberry are briefly explained, i would like to see, another book more specific about them.
