As with the Hurricane model in this snap kit series, the engineering on this kit is fantastic. No filling was done and only light sanding to smooth out the gaps was needed. There was a slight gap at the wing to fuselage joints, but these were filled in with Elmers' glue and painted. As with the other kits in this series, the option exists to build the model with extended or retracted landing gear. No stand or pilot is given so I had to take a 48th scale pilot from another kit and painted him in RAF colors. Decals are well rendered and include both regular water-slide decals and clear film stickers. I used the decals. While snap kits are generally for younger, less experienced builders, the high quality engineering and attention to detail in this kit make this a fun build for modelers of any age and skill level.

This snaptite Spitfire has a better fit, finish and detail than many aircraft by the big name, supposedly higher quality brands. I haven't done much aircraft modeling in several years, but decided to give this one a try for the local club stock-out-of-thebox class. The exterior of the a/c is well detailed, crisply molded and fits together better than many glue together models... minimal seamwork needed. Not much interior detail ( just instrument panel and seat) but is is well molded. If you need more detail there's always aftermarket. Good decals.Did I mention the low price?
