I built this War of the Worlds Martian 3 or 4 years ago. It was taken from 1953 movie of the book which was a great movie for its time. It is a rather simple kit and made of that odd styrene/vinyl materials most Pegasus kits are made from. Regular building materials work fine with it though I've found so no problem there. There was only a couple of brief instances of seeing the creature in the movie but this definitely seems to capture what was shown. It also has a couple of nice items to go with it such as a small book with HG Wells book. I definitely recommend this kit if you are a classic scifi buff and model builder.

Pegasus hit the bull's eye with this kit. This is an accurate reproduction of the Martian appearing in the 1953 film. Since the eye comes in transparent plastic, I painted the separate lenses red, green and blue. Then, since the body parts are hollow, I drilled a hole so that I could insert an LED light behind the eye. Wires and CR2032 battery can be hidden in the Martian's torso. It's a cool lighting effect that even novice builders can achieve.
