I was a little worried when I ordered this kit because of its low price. I was expecting a cheap model made from brittle plastic festooned with flash, and a sloppy fit. While it's a very simple kit, it's actually very clean and sharp, and goes together easily.
There's no more detail in the cockpit beyond a floor, seat, and back armor. The wheel wells are shallow and molded into the lower wing. The canopy is a single piece. Basically, it lacks all the lovely detail I've come to expect from the newer Airfix kits or Academy kits.
The decals offer two options: an FAA aircraft (on the box cover), or a Canadian Air Force plane. The instructions are basic but clear enough -- since there's not much detail to paint, it follows that there won't be many different paints required. The decals are also simple, but they come without the black-and-white zebra stripes shown on the box art.
It wasn't quite as satisfying a build as some newer kits, but it was a fun way to while away an afternoon!
