"Quick, easy, decent looking model"

I purchased this kit as a test of what skills i may have had after a five year break. This kit was a great to rekindle everything. With some minor adjustments to get the seams right - it went together very nice. Build time was part time and still had it together in a couple weeks. Id even go so far as to recommend this for first timers or those with limited experience.

"Not a perfect kit, but the best one of the Enterprise at this scale so far"
ryanmacgregor08
This kit is really fun to build, and seems to have none of the issues with proportions that previous versions of Enterprise had. The joints that hold the nacelles on work ok, but you only really get one shot at it, if you dry-fit like I did, removing them weakens the joint and I ended up cutting off the joint completely and using glue. In fact I used glue everywhere on the kit, but it could be done as a snap kit for a beginner modeler and would produce a nice end-result. If you add some putty to it, especially to where the nacelle struts meet the secondary hull, it can make a real nice kit. The nacelle domes are 2-part clear allowing you to really get creative with the look you want to go for. I painted my inside ones chrome and added random dots of different colors and used Tamiya clear red on the inside of the outer dome and I really like the look of it. Also, the kit comes with parts and decals to make all the variants used on the original series, which is really cool.

While the Enterprise model it a re-pop of an existing kit adding the Botany Bay from the Space Seed episode of TOS really was nice. It was the first Enterprise I have built in this scale and was a nice kit for the small size. Others complain about the warp engines and struts but for this size they aren't a problem as long as you are modestly careful building and displaying it. The Botany Bay is a very simple ship but perfect for this kit from the episode and makes for a nice display. For ST fans and especially those of us old enough to have seen it when it was first broadcast this is a very nice kit which is easy to place on a shelf in the smaller scale.

I thought it was an excellent model kit. Truly a snap-tite it doesn't need glue. But I did add a small portion to a few areas where I thought the seams needed to be a little closer. A little putty and a decent paint job and it looks great. The pros are, you get two models for the price of one. The cons are, the stand quickly loses it's ability to stay in the desired position and the heavy front end winds up tilting down. But it's not a hard problem to fix. Overall, I was very happy with the model
