"Not a perfect kit, but the best one of the Enterprise at this scale so far"
ryanmacgregor08
This kit is really fun to build, and seems to have none of the issues with proportions that previous versions of Enterprise had. The joints that hold the nacelles on work ok, but you only really get one shot at it, if you dry-fit like I did, removing them weakens the joint and I ended up cutting off the joint completely and using glue. In fact I used glue everywhere on the kit, but it could be done as a snap kit for a beginner modeler and would produce a nice end-result. If you add some putty to it, especially to where the nacelle struts meet the secondary hull, it can make a real nice kit. The nacelle domes are 2-part clear allowing you to really get creative with the look you want to go for. I painted my inside ones chrome and added random dots of different colors and used Tamiya clear red on the inside of the outer dome and I really like the look of it. Also, the kit comes with parts and decals to make all the variants used on the original series, which is really cool.

"An easy and great kit but..."

Good looking model, but despite the fact that this model is suppose to be a snap kit, it does have some pieces that will need model kit cement. I had fun putting this one together and since I'm a fan of the Star Trek universe, it was a joy to put the enterprise together. The sticker sheet comes with large decals and small decals and if you are not careful the mall decals might rip. I give this model kit 4 stars out of 5.

"Good kit, but one flaw with the nacelles & pylons..."

I built many version of the classic AMT/ERTL 18 Enterprise, so building this kit was a welcome experience for me. It is actually more detailed than the other version. Plus the design of the kit makes more sense. You appreciate details like the Buzzard Ramscoop at the front of the warp nacelles are molded in clear plastic, not solid. That's cool. Another nice feature is that you are given the option to build FOUR different versions of the Enterprise: the ship as she appeared in the TV series, in the first pilot, in the second pilot, and most awesome of all, the Mirror Universe version of the ship! You get a lot of extra pieces to do this, which helps contribute to you kitbash pile after your model is completed. Coooooooooooool. This kit also includes the Botany Bay, a nice touch. My only complaint about this kit is the connection between the warp nacelles and their support pylons. Simply put, the connection is very poorly designed and the only way to connect the nacelles is to physically bend the connection tabs into the right position. Its hard to describe verbally, but you'll see it if you build it. Its not a showstopper, but an annoyance to what is otherwise a beautifully designed kit.

This model is exceptional. So many intricate decals makes this a definite keeper!
