The KC-97G was a true tanker/transport that didn't need any equipment changes when it was used as a full transport. Four 700-gallon additional fuel tanks gave the KC-97G its distinguishing features. However, its ability to transport both passengers and freight along with the refueling capabilities is what put this aircraft in great demand. The KC-97G, because of its large airframe, made an excellent in-flight tanker. However, as a new series of jet fighters began emerging into service with much faster speeds, the KC-97G was no longer able to perform refueling procedures. Some maintenance officers at the 126th air refueling squadron proposed to fit the KC-97G with GE J-47 jet engines to add to their propulsion power, which proved to be an excellent recommendation. The U.S. Air Force decided to refit all KC-97G

The Sopwith Camel is considered by many to be the best British fighter used in WWI. The Camel was fast and extremely nimble. Armed with two Vickers 7.7mm machine guns it made a formidable opponent. The name ''Camel'' came from the hump in the fuselage which covered the two machine guns. As successful as the Camel was, it was difficult to fly. Perhaps that is the secret of the Camel, it was so effective because only the best pilots could fly it. Plastic pieces attached to

Taking advantage of captured German data regarding swept-wing technology, North American designed the F-86 Sabre for the U.S. Air Force shortly after the Second World War.
