The European Airbus Industrie is the main competitor for the American Boeing aircraft company. Since the original A300 was released Airbus has developed a number of airliners to compete against Boeing products in the short medium, and long-haul passenger markets. The A330 was developed quite recently and first flew in November 1992. It is similar in size and capability to the Boeing 767 and uses 60,000lb thrust Pratt and Whitney PW4168 high bypass ratio turbofan engines. This 1/44th scale Revell-Germany kit represents the A330-300 which can carry up to 335 passengers with a range of 5,300 miles. Decals are included for an aircraft of LTU, Germany's largest charter operator.
