This model represents the 5th ship to be known as HMS Victory and was launched in May 1765. The ship participated in several important battles with different commanders, but it was as the flagship of Admiral Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar the Victory won the most fame. HMS Bounty, commanded by Lt William Bligh, was the scene of the most famous ship mutiny in history when the ship was taken over by her crew led by Fletcher Christian. Although the incident occurred in 1788, it has been the subject of many popular books and at least 2 movies.
