Features: * The R17 class of cars was one of three fleets purchased in the mid-1950s to replace many of the pre-WWII Interboro Rapid Transit cars. There were 4000 cars in this class, all built by St. Louis Car Company. Among them were cars 6800-6809 which had air conditioning when delivered. The Air Conditioning experiment was considered a failure and the cars were refitted with the standard axiflow fans. As was the practice, the electrical components were split between General Electric (6500-6699) and Westinghouse Electric (6700-6899). The cars came equipped with low running lights at the ends. In 1957 headlights were added to the cars. * During the course of their career

Features: * U30Bs first hit the rails at the end of 1966 as GE's competition to EMD's GP40. Packing 3,000 horses under the hood, U30Bs were ideally suited for handling fast, heavy freights over the road. These new Walthers PROTO 2000 models are accurate replicas of Phase I units and feature the proper radiator arrangement under the rear intake grilles. Each features a five-pole, skew-wound motor with dual flywheels, heavy diecast chassis and applied detail parts! * These units feature an 8-pin DCC plug socket so you can add the decoder of your choice.

Features: EMD introduced the GP15-1 in 1975 as a replacement for aging GP7s and GP9s still serving in switching, transfer and wayfreight service. Offering 1500 horsepower, the new design was better suited to the bigger and heavier cars then entering service, while the low nose improved forward visibility for added safety. As an added incentive, EMD required customers to provide a trade-in unit, which supplied traction motors, trucks and main generators, reducing the purchase price. Outwardly, GP15-1s looked like 35 Series engines, with a road-style cab and short nose. The most distinguishing feature was the single 48" fan and tunnel motor air intake for the radiators. Late
