"i love wagons"

As i said i love wagons. That said a few changes would make this kit amazing. Instead of decals actually putting the wood graining directly tooled into the model and an opening wagon gate. Also the included engine is wrong. Being a 49 merc it should have a flathead ford v8. Instead it has a 331 cid cadillac OHV v8. That assigned with some effort you can mod the engine to appear as a Lincoln Y-block v8

"Such a cool kit"

This kit is fantastic. It shares a lot of parts with the 49 Mercury Chopped Coupe, so if you're familiar with that kit, this one will build up pretty much the same way, although it doesn't have the custom suspension and some of the options. The molding is great and there is very little that needs to be cleaned up, and the instructions are great as usual. I ended up getting a chopped body and bashing this kit with the chopped coupe kit to make a custom woody, using the lowered suspension, vented hood, custom grille and a few other parts. My one complaint with this kit is the engine. Since in box form this kit is pretty much stock, the engine is all wrong. It should be a Ford flathead, but instead is the same Cadillac tri-power motor that comes with the custom coupe. I'm sure they did this to save money since they can use so many of the same parts between the two kits, but it's a disappointment. I ended up also adding a resin flathead I purchased.

Very good replica of 1948 Woody. This model assembles well without difficulty. Decals are easy to attached and windows fit easily and precise. Follow instructions carefully as there are numbered parts (extra) that are not used in assembly.

on step 6 watch for the way they show the brake backing plate, wrong for the pictures, be carefull on the way you aline. Also on step 13, carefully open the 2 holes for the windshield visor frome the inside. I have realy enjoy doing it.
