"High hopes, but poor fit"
jamie
It had been awhile since I'd build a car kit. I'd never built a '69 Camaro, and this one looked really good, so this was a little Christmas present to myself. To sum it up, I hate the poor fit of car kits. It just amounts to poor kit design. I've built hundreds of models over the years, and this one is ok, but none of the parts have a positive fit. The worst is how they do the glass - the windshield and back window fit is the worst. These are critical parts and they just slop in there with nothing to guide a positive fit. Anyway, this one got the best of me. I made some mistakes for sure, but it just did not want to go together. I did achieve t a glass smooth paint job on the body. Then, my decal setting solution was too aggressive for the decals. Then when I was polishing the windshield, I broke it in half. So I ended up putting together what I could, but ended up with an unfinished model. I also wish they offered an induction system besides the stock 302 dual carb. A hot rod version with a single carb and air cleaner would seem a natural option. I will say the detail is very good, the body looks spot on, and the rally wheels are very nice.

"very nice kit, good detail"
rarem37
This is a very nice older kit with good detail. The body to chassis fit is very tight and care must be taken not to break anything when putting them together. The decals are very strong and easy to apply, but they don't settle down on the curves of the hood very well without leaving a few wrinkles or air bubbles. I would suggest using Microset or even better microsol on them. Even after they dry, a little microsol/set applied to the problem areas can help them conform to the surface.

This is a nice kit i built a while back only complaints is the head lights shows age and the windows are pretty thick and also found an error glue the interrior tub, radiator, and fire wall all to the chassis before putting on the body it will cause a nast gap on the bottom if u dont it come with some racing decals and of course rally stripes black and white.
