"The best, and only, game available."

I like this kit a lot- I'm getting a few just to kit-bash. The detail is just right, not too small, 1/77 worked well for it. Sometimes you will see this kit advertised as 1/72 but it isn't. Don't be afraid to give this kit to newer modelers, it goes pretty quick and is really solid. Only the props are kinda delicate. If you want to get professional with it, it can do that too. Sanding the wing shape to a more accurate thickness really is easy- a little at a a time and you will get the trailing edges thinner without destroying the corrugated finish. Same for the rear horizontal and vertical stabs. A little filler around the landing gear bracing and the rear tail fins are it needs. Voila! Done, and you'll love it!

"Another Golden Oldie from Monogram's early days"
jimmbbo
In the '70s, Monogram was king of the modeling hill. During that time, the Ford Trimotor and DC-3 kits bridged the gap from old Monogram to the new Monogram, hence the oddball 1/77 scale, used to make the kit fit into a standard Monogram box. That said, the kit has aged well. The fit is good, detail is adequate, and the outline looks like a Trimotor. Assembly is easy, and a model could be completed in 8 - 10 hours. A good second or third model for Golden Age enthusiasts.

"Good Plane After Some Work"

This plane is a classic of aviation. The kit is quite old and has a lot of imperfection that need sanding, cutting etc. That's why i do not recommend this kit for beginners. If you spend a good time fixing all that imperfections the plane will look great once finished. The decals are great and the detail of the plane is good too.

"old Monogram"

Very nice 1/77 scale even there are not the original instructions from previous model from Monogram but the model is great
