Hint #1
provided By : Anonymous
- If it is a windy day cut a hole in the middle of your parachute to allow
it to drop faster. This gives the wind less chance to carry it away.
Hint #2

- If your tired of constantly replacing those AA batteries just use a
car or motorcycle battery to light the igniters, this works every
time.
Hint #3
provided By : Steve Bennett, PA
- If buying a rocket for the first time or for a young kid buy one with
plastic fins, it is worth it.
Hint #4
provided By : Derek Sato, Stockton, CA
- When gluing fins on body tubes. Spray a little
CA on the body tube where the fin will be. Use a few drops of medium CA
at either end of the fin and epoxy or wood glue in middle of the fin and
align it on the body tube. The CA will tack the fin down while the glue
dries. The procedure works best when using long curing epoxy like the Two-ton
stuff.
Hint #5
provided By : Brian Van Peski, CA
- When building your rocket, always make sure all
glue is dry before continuing to glue or build.
Hint #6
provided By : Mitch Cojocariu
- A bit of regular Baby Powder on the parachute prior to wrapping it will
prevent it from becoming stuck to itself when deploying. This is
especially true on humid days.
Hint #7
provided By : No Name was Given
- IF your going to launch a high powered or very small rocket, make sure
you paint it a color you can see from a far distance, perhaps a dull
dark color like black or a deep purple, etc.
Hint #8
provided By : Josh Ebert
- You can make your own parachutes from garbage bags and they are much tougher than the ones you get in kits.
Hint #9 provided By : Adam Clark, Los Gatos, CA
- On a windy day, with a parachute recovery system, either cut a small hole in the top, or put a peice of masking tape on the shroud line a little below the parachute, so the parchute can't open all the way.
Hint #10 provided By:

-
To check the stability of a model rocket, tie a four foot piece of
string around it on the model's center of gravity. Then, swing the
model around your head. If the nose doesn't point in the direction
you're swinging it, add a nose weight.
