"Panther Ausf. D battle of Kurst!"

As a History Buff of German Armor I wanted to present this addition to my collection. After opening the box was pleasantly surprised with the amount of detail. Very crisp detail of the welds and rolled armor. During assembly parts went together well and perfect fit. The only problem was the breakage of the supplied tracks. After painting they split and had to be replaced with metal links. Decals are excellent and have perfect register. A little glossy but with weathering and micro sol, all is good. Painting and weathering was a blast due to many reference photos reasurched before painting. Highly recommend this kit to all.

"Fun build although some inaccuracies"

This kit has superb slide molding details… welds, one piece barrel, & with additional purchases of Tamiya offering mesh covers for the engine deck & workable tracks. This really makes a nice kit low parts count, excellent fit, & the usual Tamiya poly caps. If you’re just wanting an invitation to build German armor this is something to consider. For the history this is about May ‘43 build since you’re presented sledgehammer as an additional tool, the catch on the rear loader’s access hatch, asymmetrical travel gunlock which can be articulated. The only thing found lacking is asymmetrical grilles on the engine deck - what can be commonly found on ausf A panthers is present in the kit & no inside detail for the cupola A consideration would be to shave the rain covers off the pistol ports sides & rear since they were removing them as fast as they installed them since the teething troubles heading to Kursk. Thank you since this was drawn out but this kit was an exciting build with challenges to add details raise it to another level

"Great detail"

Typical of Tamiya value for money. This a great kit that has plenty of detail for its price. The build is smooth and fun, with clear instructions. The result is a true representation of this magnificent tank.
