One of the best kits I've had the pleasure to build! Will buy again!

This is one of the most well thought out, detailed kits I have had the pleasure of building. In my case, I was making this model customized for my brother, who used to own one of these in black (stock of course). One of the great things about this kit is the flexibility. I was able to paint the body and chassis the colors I needed, and I was also able to get a photo etch set from HobbyLinc as well. The theme I am using is gold and black, gold trim and decals. I also have to say that my experience with Tamiya customer service was helpful when I needed a replacement part I had broken. The Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC truly is a joy to build, and I'll definitely order another one so I can build it with the rally car design Tamiya intended.

Incredible detail and fit

This was the first Tamiya kit that I have built and I am very impressed with the detail inside and out. The fit of parts was great with little to no flash. The instructions were clear and correct with lots of color call-outs. This kit is curbside, so no engine or opening hood. The only problem for me was the large swoosh decals on the sides. I had a very hard time getting them to fit in the curve of the body above the rear wheel arches (the decals on both sides tore). The rest of the decals laid down very smoothly and reacted well to Micro-sol to help them conform to the shape of the car. Over all this was a very fun kit to build!

Tamiya 1/24 2001 STi WRC

This was definitely the best model that I've ever built. I had much more fun building this one than any other kit that I've worked on. It has a really good weight to it when its all finished and the rollcage inside actually makes it really sturdy and have a nice solid feel to it. The ONLY issue is the large Subaru WRC decal on the sides, it just doesn't seem to fit right and is really hard to get it to stick over the curves and angles of the body. Other than that (which is easily fixable by using glue rather than just water) this is a wonderful kit and I recommend it to anyone!
