A6M3 Type 32 Zero Fighter

First flight was on 1 April 1939 and combat trials were concluded in July 1940 with 15 pre-production A6M2's sent to two squadrons by the end of the month. These aircraft had folding wing tips to accommodate aircraft carrier elevators, and were the ones first seen by Gen. Chennault in China, and at Pearl Harbor in December 1941. Although the A6M2 met or exceeded original design specifications, modifications were taking place at the Mitsubishi factory to improve roll rate, speed up handling aboard carriers, and utilize the uprated Sakae 21, 1,130 hp engine. The first A6M3 type 32 (code named HAMP) took to the air on 15 July 1941 with production beginning in April 42. A total of 343 aircraft were produced by August 43, when the type 52 A6M5 began production.

"Great Tamiya Quality on a Classic"
Tommy
If you're planning on building any WWII model planes, then the Zero Fighter is a must buy. It's a classic WWII plane along with the Mustangs and whatnot. Being a Tamiya kit, the fitting and molding is excellent. The few things that needed work can easily be sanded out with a few strokes of sandpaper. I definitely recommend this plane.

"Nice plane"

This plane is top quality as expected from Tamiya. The fitting is perfect and the detail is pretty good. The decals are very nice too. I totally recommend this plane to beginners for its cheap price and easy assembly.

"Great model for beginners"
thecarrollfamily1417 (Louisville, Ky USA)
This model is state of the art. It has stunning detail even with a full interior with engine and cockpit. Have done only a few models before and was easy to assemble. Good for modeler's who do not have lots and lots of experience recommend this personally note use multiple coats of paint for high quality. Did not take long to build only 1-2 days. Tamiya is a great brand and makes Revell look bad recommend to tap (add to list) before out of stock

"Great Kit for the Price!"

I really enjoyed building this model. I added an eduards self adhesive photo-etched set for the cockpit, and the 20mm cannons from quickboost (Hobbyinc item #QUB48603) as well. The fit of this kit is very good, and even a beginner modeler can get an excellent result. The decals are good but a little on the thick side. Decal setting fluid is recommended. At this price I think I will get a couple more and have a wing of these.
