"Dull or Matte Finish at it's Best"
davidnweber (Del Rio, Tx)
After trying numerous products (including Krylon and others), I finally found a ready spray product that does not frost the finished product. Although heavy in fumes & odor, this product was what I needed for finishing a model in a flat or matte coat.

"Best flat available hands down"
nscrfns (Killeen, TX)
If used properly this will create a very nice flat finish. I haven't found anything that produces as flat a finish than Dullcote. I've used this over lacquers, enamels and acrylics. Several mist coats until the desired flatness is achieved. My best results are when I have decanted this and sprayed it through an airbrush without thinning further. The spray can nozzle puts out too much paint in my opinion. Don't get too close to your subject to help avoid pooling and/or runs. If sprayed too heavy it can leave a milky white finish. If sprayed over clear acrylics such as Model Masters or Alclad Aqua Gloss, several mist coats is best. Anything heavier than a mist will tend to attack the acrylic clear and result in a wrinkled finish. It doesn't do this with any colored acrylic paints. Allow 10-15 minutes to dry between mist coats. As always experiment on a test piece first.
