Another nice 1/32 scale offering from Trumpeter, this kit will build into a 2 version of the Mig 17.Like the Mig 15 kit cockpit detail is sparse, but is eaisely recetifed by the addition of the Eduard Mig 17 cockpit detail set, this kit requires 2. The overall surface detail is good.Of particular interest is the well detailed engine. Fit is fairly nice with only minor filling, with the excepeton of the nose, wich incorrectly includes all three cannons. The FT5 had only 1.This can be corrected by reworking the kit nose, or using the aries FT5 nose update resin set. Decals are nice but again offer only markings for a Chinese trainer. So if you wish to model another aircraft you will need to purchase an after market decal sheet.Again I believe this is the only offering of this aircraft in 1/32 scale, but with a little work will produce a very attractive model of a unusual aircraft.I would recommend this kit.
