US M-ATV MRAP (Mine Resistant) Vehicle

This kit is huge, which should be expected as it is 1/16th scale. It has received some negative reviews because it comes from the same models that were used by Merit International to essentially produce this kit as a toy that came already put together and painted. I am happy I got it, but would have preferred to get the other MRAP from Trumpeter instead. The instructions are pretty easy to follow and it comes with a separate sheet in color to help with painting. There was no flash on any of the parts and everything fits together perfectly. All in all it is still a very great kit that has a lot of detail, but could have used so much more. While the outside is pretty good, the interior is lacking a lot. The seats are pretty decent but don't have any seat belts, and there's no radios or ammo cans or anything else to fill this inside of this monster. The best thing about the interior is the dash board as it comes with a nice BFT screen and plenty of decals to really improve the look without having to try and hand paint the details. The suspension uses metal springs for the shocks and metal pins to hold everything in place so after the model is built, the shocks work as they would in real life. There are metal pins for the doors to allow for the truck to be modeled with the doors open one day and closed the next. The kit was a little underwhelming in areas, but the size alone makes it pretty fun to build. I highly recommend this kit to anyone as it is pretty easy and fun to build. I would also recommend you buy an extra jar of paint as this kit takes a lot.
