Finally! There's a quick, affordable way to add scenery anywhere space is limited - without the added time and trouble of kitbashing!
Background Building Walls let you use that last little bit of space to create a realistic background for any industrial area. These HO Scale kits can be used on the edge of your benchwork, along a shelf or modular layout and in dioramas. Once installed, they provide a smooth, realistic transition between 3-D foreground scenes and printed or painted backgrounds. (Check out Walthers Instant Horizons printed backgrounds for more ideas on creating a backdrop for your layout.)
Based on popular Cornerstone Series(R) structures, you can build them stock or easily customize them. Each has scribed cut lines molded on the inside so you can cut new angles or reduce the width to fit your pike. Each building also comes with a variety of add-on details, a partial roof and colorful sign decals.
Make the most of the space behind your busy freight or passenger terminals with this background building. As a commissary, it's the perfect place to resupply sleepers and diners with everything they need for the next trip. As a freight transfer, it's an ideal destination for express reefers or box cars rushing packages along your railroad.
Designed to fit between the track and your backdrop, it measures just 3-1/4" deep, but the modular design makes it easy to build a longer structure if needed. Complete with canopied loading dock and decal signs it's a great way to expand operations and put big detail in a small space.

The background buildings are great, especially for shelf layouts such as mine. This kit assembles easily and the long loading dock offers lots of detailing opportunity. This can be assembled in an evening or two, the separate window castings make it easy to paint.

Plastic parts are made well. Sturdy. I used this along side the track where the boxcars load and unload. Painted mine a cream color with dark green windows and doors.
