A fun addition to your layout; I would recommend painting the doughnut as shown on the box.

I was absolutely blown away by this kit. The donut is pretty much life sized (well, Dunkin-Donut's-cake-donut-sized). The kids and I are building a railroad together in their play room and this is one of the buildings my daughter and I worked on together. She LOVED it. The kit has lots of charm and assembles easily. The back wall of the interior has shelves which my daughter decorated with little bottles and scraps of plastic painted different colors. A few employees inside helped add interest. The big windows are great for showing all that work off. We lit the inside and donut front with a single LED mounted in the roof and shining above and below it. The large overhanging roof allowed for mounting additional small LED lights that illuminate the back door and outside signs on the sides. A 'research trip' to the local Krispy Kreme resulted in a treasure trove of graphics from their various cardstock advertising leaflets and boxes which we used to decorate the HO model. The decals that come with the kit are AMAZING. Despite their small size, you can actually read all the words and prices! I was shocked when I saw this. The whole kit is extremely well done and better than other Walther's kits of this type, such as the little Chinese restaurant, which is extremely complex for its small size. I'd recommend this kit to any model railroader or diorama enthusiast of any skill level.

This is a great kit and among the best that I have for adding people to my layout. I have people inside and out and the big choclolate donut on the top is a real eye catcher. You can really go to town with this model.
