"Hard to build, but worth it for experienced modelers/"

Like other Williams Brothers kits, this is made with old tooling and has plenty of flash and some problems with fit. A lot of sanding, clamping, and filling may be necessary. It makes up into a beautiful model though if you have the patience and skill to see it through. The decals are good but take a while to soak off the paper. It is also a very unusual subject, an aircraft with a fair amount of historical significance that is nevertheless little known and for which this is the only available kit. It is a hard kit to build but well worth it for experienced and patient modelers.

"Not 'Hard to build'"

I love this kit- it brings back some challenge. Yes it is old. Yes the detail is thin. But the original was plywood and fabric- not much for engraving panel lines. Read the history of this plane and you will be impressed. The part count is low, so if you have a problem with it - you will be done quickly anyhow. Very few locator pins and a lot of flash- but no deal breakers. Enjoy the fitting of the wings and horizontal stabilizers. Use you knife sparingly and get some good tight fits. The wings align well and the fuselage takes just a wee bit of effort- but you will be rewarded. The 1/32 scale makes this model approximately the size of a 1/48 Dauntless, smaller than a Corsair, but not by much. I'm about 3 hours into it and mostly done- no filler needed. Newer modelers might want some experience before trying this kit- but it is so easy you can assemble it out WITHOUT the instructions. Don't forget to open the bottom vent in front of the wing root!! 5 stars for rare plane and final shape- it's slick. 4 stars for kit, flash, and molding.
