Track Type Loader CAT #6 Metal Kit

Overall a good kit. The pieces are well sculpted. There are a fair amount of mold lines that need to be filed, however. Not as bad as some of their other kits, though. Luckily all the mold halves meet correctly. This is theoretically a Cat D6 tractor, but my brief research did not yield any pictures that matched the model exactly. Specifically the suspension and some of the cowlings are different. But I consider this minor. The tractor was in production for many years and I'm sure there are numerous variations. It is easy to build with CA glue. I recommend always using an accelerator, but if you do, always have a debonder on hand as well, as it is surprisingly easy to glue your fingers together in a major way. Almost everything on this tractor is painted Caterpillar yellow, even the engine. I advise when painting something yellow (or red or green) to always start with a base coat of white. I probably sprayed at least 10 coats of admittedly very thin yellow paint to get it where I liked it. So on the whole a really good kit with some minor issues.

This is an awesome product. Extremely detailed but a lot of edges and details to clean up before assembly. But very easy and looks great when done. Bought two and converted one into a log grabber.
