M3 Lee Tank (Snap) (New Tool)

Possibly the best Zvezda 1/100 armor kit so far. Parts are finely detailed and fit perfectly. There are more parts (2 trees) than usual and the assembly instructions are useful. Still no decals.

I liked this. For te scale it has alot of detail, no flash and easy to build.

I bought several Zvezda models in 1/100 scale to try and keep my boys away from my Flames of War miniatures (I know, wishful thinking). The Panther comes on two sprue trees and was free of flash. Overall, the detail is fair, but not very pronounced when compared to Battlefront Miniatures. I built a short barrel version as my fat fingers broke the 37 mm gun when I was trying to clean the sprue attachment points. The turret rotates and the main gun elevation can be changed. In several pictures I compared the tread and suspension of the M3 to a Battlefront Sherman and you can see what I mean. One other aspect that is a bit disappointing is the lack of accessories such as fuel cans and extra tread. The snap together feature is really kind of nice and allows you to put them together in just a few minutes and it went together fairly easily. Beware of the top machine gun if you are going to glue this model. The base of that little upper turret only fits in the main turret one way, so glue that in first and then the top part of the turret onto the base or your gun could end up pointing the wrong way (don’t ask me how I know this).
