This is a 1/72 Hawker Typhoon IB Plastic Model Kit from Academy. Conceived by Sydney Camm to supersede the Hurricane as a fighter-interceptor, the Typhoon became famous as a low level ground attack aircraft. This was thanks to it's heavy cannon armament and ability to carry up to 2000lbs of bombs or 8 rocket projectiles. The Typhoon was powered by a unique H-configured 24 cylinder Napier-Sabre engine rated at over 2,000 horsepower. Typhoons played an important role in the D-Day invasions in Normandy with their attacks on German shipping and armour.

This is a plastic 1/72 Hawker Tempest Airplane from Academy Plastics. It's a skill level 1 model plane. The Hawker Tempest was perhaps the ultimate British piston engined fighter developed during WWII. Similar in appearance to the Hawker Typhoon, the Tempest featured a much thinner laminar flow wing which gave much better overall performance. Tempests were used successfully during the last years of WWII ground attack aircraft, and for intercepting the German V-1 "Buzz Bombs" which were launched against London and South-East England. The Hawker Tempest was powered by a 2180 hp, 24 cylinder, H-configuration Napier-Sabre engine.
