I would recommend this kit. The detail is okay. The molding is okay. There is very little flash, nice hood attachment, decals are nice. Nice dashboard that could be painted or you can apply decals (stock or racing). Decals for brand lettering and side reflectors are REALLY nice. Optional drag racer, stock or something in-between. It’s nice that could use parts or delete almost at will. The body to frame fit is really novel and fantastic (the tub sits on the frame, then you eventually glue the body to the lower half with skidplates that hold all in place). The engine bay has plenty of room for improvement through plumbing you can add. It can turn out really neat and clean with patience. However, this kit has limitations. Rivet counters will argue this and that for accuracy, and the windshield does not fit very well. The price is not great for this old of a kit. But, it is a great place to begin a really nice project.

Pretty cool kit. Mine came with the frame to the back window pretty warped and there is a decent amount of flashing on most of the parts. The interior and engine bay has some decent detail. Nothing spectacular though. Builds up nicely

First, the bad: mold lines, ejector pin marks, flashing, and thick sprue connections - these require a lot of time carving, sanding, and cleaning up; more than normal. My frame had a crack that had to be repaired. Stock tires are a bit too small - I was going to use aftermarket off-road tires, but screwed things up, and pretty much had to go with the kit tires. The good - lots of options. Kit engine and engine bay lacking - I used a bunch of VCG Resins parts: small block Chevy 350 engine, 6-pack intake, backdraft headers, battery, master cylinder and booster. Interior, I used racing seats from Hiroboy in England, Gopher Racing racing harnesses, Parts by Parks steering column, and VCG steering wheel, tachometer, grenade shifter, 4x4 shifter, jerry cans, hi-lift jack. Dash is easy to detail; the wood grain molded in is nice. I also used a very old VCG cast resin side step (now out of production). The body mold lines are easy to detail; they have wood grain molded in as well. Windshield isn't quite big enough - it is THICK and doesn't cover the vent windows well. I also had issues with the top - the rear hatch hinges would never let the hatch sit right; it's glued in place. (The top is a dust cover..) The tailgate is supposed to open - I never got it to work right; it's glued in place. And who in their right mind would use this to drag race on pavement?? Silly, if you ask me .... Overall, this is a 3 star kit, but the almost infinite combinations and ability to alter with aftermarket parts ups it to 4 stars.
