I grew up in Carrollton, Tx in the 80's. Right down the street from the long abandoned Blanton Grain Company silo. That silo was serviced by MKT lines. The lines were still active in the 80's when I was a kid so I saw these green and yellow monsters quite often as well as some others like Burlington Northern, etc. So when I got into model railroads again this last year after taking a 25 year break I decided to focus on MKT as it looked in the 80's. I've picked up various locomotives in various condition so i've needed paint. both green and yellow, that would be representative of the Katy yellow and green. Turns out Badger makes these colors specifically labeled as MKT Green, and MKT yellow. And I must say they are pretty spot on. Every company's rendition of Katy Green and Yellow is different on their models but to their credit Athearn comes REALLY close (Bachmann's green, for instance, is far too bright). And these Badger paints match perfectly to the RIGHT color. I had a GP-7 chop nose I needed to touch up and it (Green in this case) blended in PERFECTLY despite my lack of skills. lol. Cleanup was easy, I applied it with a brush but can't wait to try with an airbrush. The yellow also blended in really great with the decal set (I think it was microscale) that was on this locomotive. So I would DEFINITELY recomend the MKT colors from Badger's Modelflex line
