Blohm & Voss BV P178 Bomber

This 1/72 scale kit is from a Hong Kong model company called Bronco Models. Until now I’ve never heard nor worked on any of their kits before. The pros of this kit are as follows: You have five paint schemes to choose from. I ended up doing the German version of the aircraft which is seen on the cover. The four remaining versions included are from Finland, Socialist Republic Italy, Hungary, and Romania. The painting of the aircraft was not too bad. The components of the kit fit well for the most part. The cons of the kit are as follows: The painting instructions for the interior of the aircraft are nonexistent. So I had to make them myself in the form of brown leather seats and light brown seat belts. The building instructions are shall we say nearly incomprehensible. For example in order to prevent the airplane from being tail-heavy, you’ll have to put 10 grams of counterweight in the nose of the aircraft. I did just that but it still was tail-heavy! The clear plastic stand that goes on the rear of the aircraft doesn’t work at all because there was no place to glue on to. So I ended using a sewing needle. I positioned it into the aircraft’s midsection and it worked. The decals I found out are quite brittle and easy to rip apart. This mainly applies to the small decals and where to place them is quite a challenge as they are quite hard to see. Fortunately I had no issues with the larger decals. In conclusion, I give this kit a rating of 3 stars out of 5. Bronco Models if you’re reading this I highly suggest you do a better job with your decals and more importantly the instruction manuals.
