I bought this set to cut through the thick bases/ sprues on resin pieces. I am not disappointed. Solid product from X-ACTO with two cutting blade options and a comfortable grip. Highly recommended for those working with resin parts/accessories. I don't see why it wouldn't work with styrene shapes (beams, angles, etc.) or even soft wood.
