This is an older kit that is pretty basic. Since it's a basic kit, it's an easy build that doesn't take too long. There isn't a lot of detail but if detail is what you're looking for, buy a higher end kit and don't bash this one. For under $20 you can't go wrong. This kit has raised panel lines with recessed panel lines around the rudder, ailerons and elevators. There was hardly any flashing and the pieces fit pretty good. I used minimal putty in a few areas to fill seams. The landing gear is pretty fragile so be careful after gluing them on. It might be best if the landing gear was glued on towards the end of the build. The canopy pieces were a tricky fit and its' best displayed in the open configuration. The model itself is old and has been reissued over the years to where it is today. My only negative comment would be the painting and decal instructions. Basic info on color which isn't much help so I did some research to use for the color scheme. I used Tamiya acrylic paints overall. White XF-2. Brown XF-52 + XF49 (5:1). Green XF-62 + XF-61 (5:1). The decal instructions are for an older issue of this model and don't match the decals in the kit. You can chose between the box art or the pictures on the sides of the box for decaling. I would recommend this kit for anyone looking for that easy build from the novice to the expert. Not bad for what it is.
