I have to admit, this was a hard kit for me. from a fit and finish perspective, it went together well enough - except for the wing roots which did not sit as flush as it should have - necessitating a fair amount of sanding and filling. The decals went on well enough, but the overall experience was just… blah.
There are three challenges with this kit: the decals go on well, but the the subject and stripes just makes it look childish; The detail on the kit is abysmal - lack of rivets, soulless wheels, basic landing gear wells - absolutely devoid of details; The color scheme doesn’t inspire much to be desired either - no matter how much color modulation you put in, it’ll be boring (‘but that could be my lack of finess)
Most people would argue that 1/72 scale kits are never meant to be that detailed - but when a 1/72 Su-47 has the same size as a 1/48 Gripen, the lack of details REALLY STANDS OUT.
For its price point - it’s not bad, if you hang it from the ceiling. But up close, it’s really not a fascinating build.
