I'm constructing a space sciences display at one of the colleges where I teach intro astronomy. I've just added the Convair NEV.

Here is the other mini-museum in progress. This features an early build of the Interplanetary Explorer, as well as some other early concept models. The wood prop will be replaced with something nicer. It's a little nose heavy because I rigged this so the cabin and engine was lighted.

Painted inside of engine white. Ran a 3mm blue LED through center fuselage into engine cone. CR1225 battery for power. Wanted everything self contained, but a hassle to turn on and off. Future, will run everything through base and greenscreen for photos.

Focus a bit fuzzy, but shows cabin lighting. I added an extra "dome" to make better use of the light. Again, used CR1225 battery.

Original finished build. Note nylon line for hanging. Switched out metal tube and repainted radio dish when installed in mini-museum.
