Let me start by saying the the coarse is about a 400 grit. These stick make quick work of seams and sprue points. They are great detail sanding sticks and very useful if you are worried about removing to much material from the model. I do a lot of Sci-fi and car models and I only use these a little bit because these don't get into tight places very well. Overall there are better sanding sticks out there but only because they are shaped differently.
