This 1/72 scale kit comes from a French modeling company called Heller. This kit in my opinion is one of the better model’s I’ve worked on. The pros for this kit are as follows: You have two paint schemes to choose from and the one I did is Messerschmitt Bf 108B-1 Taifun in Bulgarian colors from 1943/1944. The other one is on the cover of the box titled Messerschmitt Bf 108B-1 Taifun painted in German colors serving in Sicily 1943. For the painting the outside of the aircraft and placing the decals, they have every view possible. It has great fits all around with minimal sanding.
The cons for this kit are as follows: The end piece for part #25 propeller axle is too small and part #22 end of propeller axle is too big for the inside of part #28 engine cowling. In other words, it would be impossible in its current state to have a spinning propeller. The decals for the outside of the aircraft are too big especially the fuselage ones. That and they’re extremely hard to remove them from the paper. Instead of soaking them in water for about 30 seconds, I ended up by trial and error, having them soak for over a minute. They’re also quite delicate as some of them were ripped apart.
In conclusion, I give this kit a rating of 4 stars out of 5. Heller if you’re reading this, it’s good kit in general for a beginner to try. But the decals and some of the components have some serious issues that prevented me from giving this a higher rating. It’s a step in the right direction so keep it up there.
