Martin B-10 Model 139WC/WSM/WT Bomber 1/72 Scale Kit Review

This 1/72 scale kit comes from a Czech modeling company that I’ve probably built the most kits from called Special Hobby. A lot of their kits are either a hit or a miss but I will give them credit for making kits on rare aircraft such as this. The pros for this kit are as follows: You have four paint schemes to choose from and the one I did is Model 139 WT, no.10/2310, 55 Sqn, Corlu, Turkish Air Force, 1941- 42. The other three paint schemes included are Model 139 WSM, no.6, 50 Bomber Squadron, Ubon AFB, Royal Thai Air Force, 1940, Model 139 WC no.3001, 14 Chungtui (squadron in Chinese), Chinese Nationalist Air Force, Hankou, 1937, and on the cover of the box is Model 139 WC, no.1403, 14 International Volunteer Sqn, January to March 1938, later 14 Chungtui, April to July 1938, Hankou, Chinese Nationalist Air Force. All four paint schemes are in color with every view possible for painting and placing the decals. The decals slid off the paper very easily and applied to the kit with little to no difficulty.

The cons for this kit are as follows: There are many open gaps in the fuselage and wings that require putty to fill them in. The instructions are a little bit hard to follow as well. The clear plastic pieces are quite delicate to assemble as I accidently broke the clear plastic nose turret while trying to clean the excess paint on it. Luckily I found another clear plastic nose turret from an old kit I did in the past. Even though it is not the exact one I broke I believe I did a good job replacing it. I also accidently broke one piece that is supposed to go on the wing but I never did find it.

In conclusion, I give this kit a rating of 4 stars out of 5. Special Hobby if you’re reading this, it is not a bad kit by any stretch on imagination. It’s just some of these pieces are more delicate than others. So if I were you I’d make them more durable and making sure each component requires little to no gaps to deal with. Other than that keep up the good work.
