Fire tower. The staircase, a separate assembly inside the tower structure, only happened because Plastruct makes scale stairs. So the model breaks down into three parts for transporting and storage: the staircase, the tower trusswork, and the little house on top.

The log cabin has a layer of scale logs made from privet, just about the ideal shrub to yield 1/48 logs.

The Pure station benefits from a Berkshire Valley gas station detail set and other detail bits on the pump island and in the service bay. The wrecker truck started life as a Matchbox Deuce Coupe.

The lean-to is a pointedly humble adaptation of the Cape Cod. The unpainted siding look is achieved with a solution of India ink in alcohol. The timber was all stained before assembly, and cut ends were re-touched afterward.
