Decided to go with a vinyl covering; used sheet metal to drape over the wooden inserts in the bed. Replicated the snaps with dots of white glue

swapped out the box engine with a blown 350, and cut the hood out

Scratched the door and window handles and installed a stick on the floor. Note, I left the original shifter on the column

Here is the finished product, with scratched exhausts in my newly built scratch built garage.

The engine has spark wires, stainless fuel lines to the blower, linkage, and the master cylinder is hosed with brake line pigtail installed.

I also swapped out the tires and wheels with rear slicks and Goodyear grips on the front.
