This Bergepanzer from the 653rd Panzer Battalion will be part of a diorama with a SdKfz 184 "Elefant" in Italy in 1944. Yhe 653rd had 3 Bergepanzers attached to it. I will be adding a repair crew.

Since many if not most Bergepanzers were constructed from recomvered vehicles, I kept this one in panzer grey and added a fairly heavy coating of rust but decided to show almost brand-new derrick equipemnt plus an "extra" set since it was going to be hauling 36 ton "elefants" out of the mud.

This tank had its turret blown off when it was "recycled" with a wooden deck covering the turret ring. I added interior details where the open front hatches show them.
