The AFV's of both companies were exactly the same except for the white Panzer Rhomboid with a red line through it and the company numbers after it made the only difference.

504 was the only heavy tank battalion that did not carry turret numbers at that time but later added them along with overspray of olive green and brown paint.

In the beginning 504 had only two companies but by the end of the war it had three companies and even managed to get a few King Tigers in their ranks. They surrendered to the Allies in Italy at the end of the war.
