Kawasaki Ki61-I Hei HIEN

I bought this kit a few months ago but have been working on hard to find out of production kits to fill out the holes in my collection (such as it is) so it was put aside for a fw months. I got tired of the rotted decal sheets and parts you can't replace, so I pulled this out. I can see it has had a five star rating before me, but I can't give it that. The kit is a good build (with great decals for a unique paint job), but the kit is too simple for the money' Total engine detail? exhaust stacks. Nice glue on details, though a bit difficult to do for me on top of the silver paint scheme. Same old Hasegawa landing gear problem; not enough meat on the stalks and females to make it strong enough to hold up. I really have a bone to pick on this common problem for Hasegawa. Still it does fit together well; the cockpit details are very good without being a pain to fit in the fuselage halves together, and good illustrations in the instructions, especially the paint and decal areas. but for a top dollar kit, not enough for the moneyif you can afford it.
