40' Single Sheath Wood Boxcar kit Pennsylvania #45983

This was my third attempt at building a car from a kit. The other 2 were Tichy models, which were much more detailed but also much harder to build. This one seemed to hit the sweet spot for me, with a good price, easy to build and pre-painted and lettered shell. The parts were all well molded and the instructions were clear and complete. Obviously the detail of the undercarriage was less than the Tichy models but since no one ever sees it, I was okay with that. My only issue is that the couplers were a bit fussy to install and are only reasonably compatible with Kadee, but not perfectly so.
