'55 Chevy Bel air Conv.
Large size will make it easier to detail, no apparent flashing, and no cons anticipated so far no flaws found and because of it's size any flaws should be easy to rectify. My son bought this for himself because of it's size he thought would be easier to work with and it would make a nice project because he is in to '55 Chevy's. the reason for the excellent rating is because of it's condition as I said, no flashing and maybe that is because of it's scale, it has really clean crisp mold lines, no visual flaws and details are very clear. Con Is that it can only be built with the top Down there is no ragtop in the Up position And they could have included a better selection of custom accessories, Pro Is it Can be built with custom wheels, and He will probably buy another one to build as a custom as this one he is building stock.

Years ago I collected and had built all of the Amt 1/16 scale models.I Liked the size and the ease they went together.I gave this kit to a younger cousin for Christmas years ago.Turns out he never built it and thanked me for it.A few years ago he gave the complete kit back to me and told me he knew I would Enjoy it much more than he would.I am going to build it and start building my Ant 1/16 collection Back up again. I will post some pictures of the build as it goes and Completed Model pictures. They are so east and simple to assemble I would recommend this kit to any one above the age of 12 and up.Keep up the good work Amt and please keep producing Quality fun Models for us to build.
A hassle getting parts to fit
Doors poor fit, hood poor fit, windshield and dash poor fit (and interfere with doors), rear bumper appears to be from a different kit (holes not even close), interior tub is a challenge due to the convertible body having excessive flex...Im guessing the hard top and nomad would be much better choice, putting extra effort into just trying to get things to fit makes this kit less than enjoyable to build. Go with the hard top or nomad.
Great kit
I built one of these as a kid back in the 70's along with the 57 ragtop and Nomad.Seems this time around the kit fits a little better and the chrome was nice and shinny! Many pieces in large scale and it went together with ease.Looks great setting on my shelf next to my other large cars.I used Ultra bright Bare metal foil and it made this model pop!
Large model
I really enjoy these larger models they are harder and harder to find hobbylinc really took care of me on this one
