Great Dane reefer trailer by amt
Good and bad aspects here. First the good: van body and chassis assembled well, with strong glue points. Bad: everything else. Aside from the van parts, all other parts trees and their parts were warped. The chassis rails were so tweaked, I had to glue them to the chassis and then to the bottom of the body. In doing so, I lost the sliding wheels feature. Similar issues with other assemblies. If that weren’t bad enough, the decals were very weak. If you’re lucky enough to get them into place without tearing, leave them alone or they will disintegrate. Really a kit for an experienced modeler. As always, have fun!
My favorite trailer!
After dealing with all the fitment issues and casting flash from the AMT Coke Van trailer, I was expecting the same with this on. However, I was very happy to discover that wasn't the case. There was little to no flash to deal with. The fit and finish is so much better then the Coke van. The reefer details were very nice as well as the added tubing for plumbing. I really do like this kit and have several more to build. This is now my go to trailer for any future builds.
