"This one started it all!"

This was the first Aerotech kit I ever got my hands on and it haven't looked back since! This kit assembles easily and looks amazing when completed. It's not big and flashy but it doesn't have to be! It's that good of a kit! This thing is so reliable and stable that if you build it right, it will virtually last forever. It's light enough for the smaller F motors if your flying field isn't ideal and stout enough for some killer G flights!!!! This thing will handle anything you can fit in the 29mm motor mount. It just depends on how far you wanna chase it. HAHA. I will never regret buying this kit because it opened up a whole new world to me. If all you are used to is Estes or Quest rockets, this rocket will blow your mind! I think it's important to start with this rocket if you are looking to make the leap into mid-power. The instructions are very clear and you won't get lost. And come on, for the price Hobbylinc offers this kit you stand to lose nothing at all. I highly recommend this to builders of all levels because of it's reliability, simplicity to construct, and it's appearance.

"Great intro to mid-power rocketry"
duanenorris (Richmond, KY)
I really like this rocket. It was my first rocket flying on F and G motors. It is a great way to start for several reasons. First, it is first rate kit with great instructions and materials. You can see the difference between smaller kits and what makes a kit ready for higher power. Second, this is a heavier rocket which helps to keep things form getting way out of hand when flying on those big motors. It gives the experience of higher power without needing a much larger field to keep from losing the rocket. Of course, you still need to follow the NAR guidelines... Oh, it also allows for a large motor selection which is always a plus.

"My first high power rocket"

I bought my first initiator 25 years ago. I now have my third, although Aerotech fins last forever and I reused my first 2 sets many times. I remember my first composite motor flight. It was only an E but what a difference! I went to my first high power launch shortly after that and the first flight I saw was a glorious low altitude detonation that totally destroyed the rocket. I WAS HOOKED! Since then I have flown Many hundreds of rockets up to M power. If you see my comments, know that I am coming from a high power perspective. I have flown prior Initiators on H and I power. I also drop staged a G motor on mine once. That is why I recommend epoxy. It is heavy, but it is a superior adhesive. Another note on all rockets like this one. Throw motor blocks and motor retention systems in the trash. If you use them, you can't go with a bigger motor. All Aerotech hits are GREAT! Easy to build, logical good instructions. High Quality materials. Love those fins! And don't forget the ejection gas cooling system that is built in. This is the best $40 you can spend on hobbies. Fly it with G power. You will never be the same.

"Aerotech Initiator build"

I've built quite a few kits in the last couple years, including the Aerotech Astrobee D. This Initiator kit has to rank in my top 5 favorite builds. Superb quality of materials, logical instructions and the kit went together flawlessly with very little in the way of sanding. In the instruction sheet it clearly says to use CA glue to build this kit and I would NOT deviate from this! Aerotech designed the kit with CA glue as the adhesive. Definitely do not use epoxy or anything else. This kit is easy enough for a novice builder to put together but yet it can be flown on a G motor. 5 stars all the way for this kit!
