Essential For Layouts
I have used this product in many places for my layout. It is certainly useful for track lengths over nine feet as the sections are laid out and connected to create a seamless track. The other advantage to using this track is that of making large radius curves by connecting two or more sections the radius is larger and more efficient for longer rail cars and locomotives. I generally use a yard stick with one end on a center point and the other with a magic marker on the end to draw the desired radius, then following the drawing I lay down the flex track. You can also attach a marker to a pre-measured string for larger radius curves. The track can flex due to the nature of how each rail bends, you will have to use track cutters to make the sections connect evenly. I have connected the sections in a short straight manner as this is suggested to maintain the stability of longer train cars.
