Good station- can fit almost any era and need
This is a great kit from Atlas. It represents a very nice, generic passenger station that looks like many other railroad stations that use to be all over America. With some modifications, it can even fit into the modern era very easily. Even though I have not started building this kit, yet, I have inspected the parts and instructions. The parts are all of very excellent molding, with well defined details and no imperfections. As other reviewers noted, the roof is exceptionally detailed, and the structure as a whole would be a focal point of any layout with just a coat of paint and little else. There is also room for super-detailers and kit-bashers to customize the structure as they see fit, and even make it into something it's not (such as a small town store, or the HQ of a small short line railroad). The instructions are pretty good, but can be kind of confusing with how it's laid out. All steps are listed on the back of the single sheet, and some reference illustrations that are somewhat separated from the step (such as Fig. 1- listed on the front of the sheet) However, if a person studies it closely, they should have little problems. Overall, this a highly detailed kit and I recommend it to anyone looking for a railroad station, a MOW depot, or any number of other uses.
Nice Atlas kit
This is a very nice kit for a small amount of money. I was surprised but should not have been since I have built many Atlas kits years ago. The parts are molded in different colors like most kits. Although you could paint this any color scheme you want. I stuck to the red for station walls. But distressed them a bit to give the station some ago. It was very easy to cut out the pieces of clear plastic for the windows after the building was constructed but be sure to not attach the roof just yet. I have been using Mod Podge clear matte acrylic glue to attach windows with a tooth pick around the inside of the frames and it works well. It dries clear over night. The add on station platform is a nice addition and the whole model is very old school train station. I have been to train depots that look actually like it.
Fantastic quality - great build!
This is an outstanding kit by Atlas. One of the things I love about it is how good the roof looks. The shingles were really sculpted with care. I know that sounds strange, but let's face it, we're usually looking down on the layout, so the roof is super-important! The little details included, like the luggage cart and benches are great. As an added bonus, the side platform extension is a totally separate model, meaning you can put it on either end of the main building or even between two tracks in front of it. The ample roof overhang leaves great space for putting LEDs for night lighting.
Nice little station
I acquired one of these a few months ago and slowly built it. Just before gluing on the dormers, I got an idea and bought a string of tiny led lights powered by three AA batteries. I drilled a 1/8 inch hole in the roof part behind each dormer and ran a light through each one taping the wire down on the inside of the roof. I then pushed the rest of the lights and light control inside of the main building. Each evening at 5, the lights come on inside the station and go off at 11:00. It looks really neat on our Christmas Tree/Railroad track display.
Classic Train Depot
Having recently gotten back into model railroading, this was my first purchase. When I was much younger I used to have the same exact station, and when I decided to make a new train set after all these years, I was delighted to see that Atlas still made this particular product. This was a good way for me to reintroduce myself to the idea of model building, and I was very happy with the end result. This is a wonderful little train station that I would recommend to anybody to put in their layout.
Passenger Station Kit #706
Highly detailed model. I would not rate this as a beginner model. Many very small pieces which are difficult to handle. Would have been nice had the instructions mentioned that the clear plastic windows had a protective plastic sheet which needed to be removed. Instructions only said to glue the printed side with no way to tell which side was the printed side. Otherwise I am very happy with the quality of this model.
Thank You better than expected.
Sorry took three months to review, but i can not tell you how happy i am with your company, the fast ship time, communication and the quality products i received on my first order. The kit for the price is great, one small problem with the instruction to put on the roof before you have the down spouts and roof supports glued, but it was an easy fix. You have a customer for life. Thanks Again.
Quality Highly Detailed Kit
This is a highly detailed kit from Atlas. There was a little extra flashing on my sprues, but nothings quick once over with the hobbyknife wouldn't fix. The window pieces had a protective film on both sides to keep the actual glass looking sharp. I have started painting it and it paints easily as would be expected. I will begin assembly over the weekend. I am enjoying this kit so far.

As usual, we received this package in excellent condition. It's a pleasure to do business with a company where you always receive your items in excellent condition. Since the closest hobby shop is over a two hour ride from us, it is a pleasure to have a corporation such as yours where we can order and be so certain it will arrive in excellent condition.
Classic kit
I had this station on my layout as a kid, my dad built it. Since then I’ve built 2 myself, one for a Christmas diorama and one for a layout. It’s a great kit with some nice details. A few parts are fairly delicate so be careful with those. For the price you certainly can’t go wrong!
Looks great
I love the way the station looks. It can be arranged in different ways since the platform is a separate piece. I did have some problems with the instructions and ended up with a couple of extra pieces that I couldn't find directions for.
Beginners choice
Pretty easily assembled by a novice. Great addition to my small layout. One word of caution - the colors are not as depicted on the website. The red siding is actually brown, the roof is charcoal gray.
