Overall great kit, intermediate skill level, as it requires some planning in terms of build/paint/build sequencing. It is a 5 star review, but unfortunately fit is not perfect. Therefore I give it a 4 out of 5. Positives: all parts are very nice, good quality, and in most areas the details are excellent. Kit allows for different options (gear up or down, engine nacelles can be at different forward angles and freely moving, freely-rotating props, and option of rear bay opened or closed. The only negative aspect to the kit, in my opinion, is that several parts do not have a good fit, making the builder have to use filler or needs to sand down alot.

First I noticed that the parts do not, fit together as nice as other kits from this manufacturer do, oversize especially in the nacelle area. Second on the decal sheet there is a 17 decal that is not shown on the instructions. However there are only 3 part 15's. The plane instructions call for 4, so after placing them in order I think the intention is for the 17 to be on the underside of wing where the color is lighter, since the 17 decal is much darker than the 15's. I will still recommend this kit since it is the only 1/48 of this plane I could find to add to my collection, just takes a lot of carving and putty work.

I built this model when it was first available in the mid 1990s and was able to fit a small hobby electric motor into each engine nacelle and using an empty Bic pen ink tube cut to length for a shaft to the rotors. To my surprise there was an actual draft from the rotors. The ease of building was as much fun as powering the rotors and the detailing of the overall model was quite good. All of the parts went together very well and the fuselage halves fits without any problems which is always a concern for modelers with aircraft. I would highly recommend this model to anyone with aircraft model experience.

This is a well made model. I did have a few questions, in back of the cockpit there is a gap I didn't find a part for and I wish the engine pads where able to move. Other than that the instructions are clear, there is very little cleaning to do, there is loads of decals and painting instructions are clear. The interior (if you leave the ramp down) is a little simplistic but it looks good to have the ramp and landing gear down. All in all a solid model, enough parts to make it fun but not to hard for younger modelers.

Compared to the hobby boss kit, this is a steal. However, it is past outdated. It only comes with one option for decals, it has raised pannel lines, the fit isn't great, detail is limited, and i'd like to say more bad things about it but at this point I can't. It is simply just out dated. I didnt mind building it, although it needed a fair bit of work, I just wish you got more for fifty bucks. But like I said before, it's a real steal compared to the crazy but reasonable price of the hobby boss kit.

Great kit. Instructions very clear. Wing construction a little big fiddly, but other than that great fit and details on exterior. The interior troop bay is lacking a little in detail but if you model the door up it's no issue at all.

Great build and nice detail but I wish there was an air force option for decals because I painted it in the airforce pattern off the movie transformers the first one.

model was fun to build and went together great. parts fit good almost as good as Tamiya models all in all a great kit

really enjoyed this model definite buy really like the size its a little expensive but I liked the model

My 14 year old, son really enjoyed building this. He is looking forward to building more.

Overall good product. Decent fit. Not as detailed as I’d like. Invest in a masking kit!
