Older Tooling
This kit makes for a nice shelf display model, but you can tell it's from a much older mold. I usually expect high quality from Revell and this one is still good, but not their best kit. Couple of issues to mention. The interior tub fits VERY tight into the cab. You need to be very careful since you can actually crack the glue joint for the back of the cab. I found if you put the front of the interior tub in first and then carefully spread the back of the cab with your fingers the rear of the tub will snap into the cab. The smoke glass for the windows and sunroof are very cool. However, you will need to cut the straps for the front and rear glass and remove all but about 1/4 inch. If you don't do this, the straps will not fit flush due to the thickness of the sunroof.

Revell makes some great square body kits, but this isn’t one of them. I was a little disappointed but I wouldn’t rule it out. Low parts count results in less detail, some assemblies were fiddly, and the windshield fit was horrible. I had to cut the one piece clear windows in two and remove some of the plastic in between. The tuned port injection system parts were tiny and the instructions were foggy on its assembly. The engine looks lost in the engine bay and it screams for a big block. If that were the case, wiring and plumbing details would really make this stand out. If you are a square body fan like me, get it, have a little fun with it, and place it on the shelf along with its brethren. I finished mine in a matte/satin black and I’ll call it a “project in primer”.
